A NEW LOOK FOR CUBS ... Each rank of Cub Scouts have a new uniform cap designed especially for them. The Tiger Cub, Wolf Cub, Bear Cub, and Webelos Scout, have available a new cotton/polyester, six panel, twill cap with a low-profile crown and pre-curved visor. The new Wolf and Bear caps are in classic Cub Scout navy blue, with the two front panels matching the neckerchief colors -yellow for Wolf, and light blue for Bear. The new Webelos cap comes in olive green with the two front panels matching the plaid Webelos neckerchief. All caps are centered in the front with an embroidered replica of the various rank emblems.
These caps are now available at the Betts Scout Service Center. However, remember, that old style caps are still acceptable as official uniform wear. The Boy Scout policy is, "once an official uniform, always an official uniform." Any uniform that is wearable in its complete state is acceptable as official uniform wear.
Attention Cub Scout Leaders . .
Seeing the look of pride on a new Cub Scout's face as he picks out his uniform has to be a satisfying experience. Nothing symbolizes BSA pride more than a fully uniformed Scout.
As the busy "Back to Scouting" season returns, please encourage all new and returning Scouts to visit the Betts Scout Service Center, at 316 Fourth Ave., Warren for all of their Scouting needs. We carry in stock: uniform shirts, neckerchiefs, slides, hats, handbooks, literature, as well as leader materials to help your unit get off to a good start.
Many parents are unaware of our Scouting inventory and we need your help spreading the word. Encourage your leaders and parents to stop by for a visit.
Tiger Cub Leaders and Advancement Chairman ..
With the new Tiger Cub program this year, the Tiger Cub badge should only be awarded to this year's Tiger Cubs, not those who were in last year's program. There are several requirements that each Tiger Cub must earn before being awarded this rank. Tiger Cub participation strips are still available for uniform wear for previous Tiger Cubs.
